在老照片上进行传统手工上色是郭鹏处理影像的惯常方式。他在保留和崇尚美好记忆的片段中,以重构的方式再现了他曾经的视觉记忆。因为“记忆”是试图将已获得的经验保存下来,由此产生抗拒的想象。但这种想象却剔除了中国上世纪70年代的低物质时代所形成的苦涩记忆,而抽离了其中的纯粹感。从这个角度来看,他的影像艺术既是他个人记忆的现实显影,又是在其形而上的超验表现,并虚构了其中想象的感性色彩。

It is a frequently used way of photo processing for Guo Peng by traditional manual chromatograph on the old photos. He repeats his past visual memory in the dribs and drabs of keeping and advocating the nice memory. Memorizing is to hold the acquired experiences, which will cause the imagination of disputing oblivion. This imagination, excluding the sorrow memory of the 1970’s in China when it is lack of consumable, is never to be pure. For this point of view, his photos are not only his memory in the reality but also experimental representation with a perceptual tone of the imagination.
